Gongfu Style

  • Vessel: Gaiwan or small clay teapot (100–150ml)

  • Tea to Water Ratio: 4g per 100ml

  • Water Temperature: 195–205°F (90–96°C)

  • Steeping Times:

    • Rinse: 5 seconds

    • 1st infusion: 15 seconds

    • 2nd–4th: Add 5–10 seconds per round

    • Up to 6–7 brews possible

Western Style 

  • Tea Amount: 3g (1 heaping tsp) per 8oz (240ml)
