San Diego to Hold BOLD MINDBODY Mid-Week Conference on Health and Fitness

In San Diego’s Hilton Bayfront Hotel this week, the BOLD MINDBODY Conference drew attendees from all over the country. The event featured wellness classes, catered lunches, events for industry professionals and newbies alike, and time set aside for networking. New workout experiences, like Swerk, a combination of sweating and twerking, a Silent Disco Cardio Party, and Speed School, is set to happen every morning. The BOLD Bash, hosted on the second night of the event, promises to be a way to unwind and enjoy all that the festivities have to offer before the keynote speech on Thursday.

Speakers at the event included former first lady Michelle Obama, Billie Jean King, a professional tennis player who won 39 Grand Slams over the course of her career, and Rick Stollmeyer, founder of MINDBODY fitness.  Michelle Obama, the former first lady who founded the “Let’s Move” initiative while in office, spoke about balancing health and family, her new book, and the importance of combatting childhood obesity.

On the final day of the conference, Rick Stollmeyer is set to introduce Billie Jean King– the keynote speaker. King plans to speak about her struggles against sexism in sports and her latest book, “Pressure is a Privilege: Lessons I’ve Learned from Life and the Battle of the Sexes.” King is also anticipated to speak on lessons of inclusion in sports and fitness.

After the keynote speech, a panel featuring some big names in boutique fitness is going to round out the conference. Speakers include Jill Dailey, founder of the Dailey Method, a barre fitness class, Nikki Warren, founder of Kaia Fit, a gymnastics workout studio, Kurt Donnell, founder of YogaWorks, and Kris Tucker, founder of OrangeTheory fitness. The panel promises to guide new entrepreneurs in the fitness industry who need some extra advice on how to break into a specific niche gym.

This event also offers resources to the attendees– integration with Mindbody Fitness University, for example. Other resources include “general sessions,” or speakers covering a wide range of topics. Some of the cases involve succeeding in video marketing, building a successful spa business, employee engagement, community building, and other essentials. The event ends on the 20th of September, at around 4 pm.
