Breakfast Brawl: Healthiest Granola Bars for Breakfasts and Snacks

If you’ve ever thought about what to grab for a quick, healthy breakfast, granola bars probably top that list (although if you asked a nutritionist, that answer might be different.) But before you reach for a sugar-laden option, try some of these new, healthy options that have recently exploded into the market. Here are five of the healthiest granola bars that you can grab for a quick and easy breakfast.

RXBARs

These granola bars have approximately six ingredients, listed on the front of the package. Although they may be high in protein thanks to the egg whites that they tend to have, they don’t have any added sugars, gluten, or dairy that can wreak havoc on your intestines. You can eat them as a snack or as a meal thanks to their average content of 200+ calories a pop.

KIND

Another granola bar that prides itself on being nutrient dense are KIND bars– they average just under 200 calories. The different flavors of the KIND bar are different fruit and nut combinations. And although these bars taste sweet, they contain only five grams of added sugars, on average.

Larabar

This brand is another type of granola bar that touts the handful of ingredients in every one– Larabars contain around six different elements. Across every flavor, the first ingredient is dates, giving the bars a unique taste and chewy texture. And with a diverse new line of products, from snack-able granola bar bites to kids’ bars, there is bound to be something for everyone!

CLIF

Climb that mountain, conquer that test, or perform well at that practice with CLIF bars. CLIF bars, like Larabar, have a varied product range– with granola, energy shots, fruit smoothie, and nut-butter filled bars, and a kids’ line. Depending on what product you decide on, the health benefits will differ. The MOJO bars, for example, have 200 calories, 8 grams of protein, and are laden with organic fruits, nuts, and seeds.

Annie’s Granola Bars

Annie’s, the brand who makes your favorite microwaveable mac and cheese bowls, also makes granola bars! They are all organic, many are gluten-free, and they come in a range of flavors. Each bar is around 100 calories each, making them an ideal snack.
